My husband are semi-backpacking and stayed here on the recommendation of Randy from Randy\'s book exchange after we were unable to stay at our previous hotel. We met Sally at reception first and from the first moment the girls at reception were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. There is definitely a cynically part of me that waits for the sell in Vietnam and these girls seemed to genuinely want to help, rather than push stuff on us. They did offer to book tours and suggest tailors but only ever offered once and did not seem in the least put out when we did not take their offers up. They had a pool that was fantastic in the hot afternoons (although it has a LOT of chemicals in it, goggles were very handy). We also asked for a quiet room and got just that, with a heat pump, hot water, a king single and queen bed (we asked for a double room) and for only $US28/night including a perfectly adequate breakfast. We kept meaning to move on but stayed for seven nights! Two minor points - no bottled water provided but very cheap from the mini bar or from the woman with the little cart outside. - The linen is not exactly spotless. It\'s laundered but the towels had rips and stains, as did the sheets. In saying that, everything was very clean and we had no qualms about the level of hygiene, just tired linen!
